Pros
Virtual first - it's nice having a lot of flexibility over your work schedule. Lots of smart engineers who are pleasant to work with, when politics don't get in the way.
Cons
* Lack of coherent or consistent strategy from leadership, our company strategy * Cutting benefits, used be industry leading, now below average * One of our "pillars" is "Make work human" but the recent layoffs and cuts to benefits (especially parental leave) make it seem like a bad joke. * Promotions/calibrations is super political, very hard to make progress even if you are excelling in your role * Yearly re-orgs create a lot of thrash, many teams lose whole quarters of productivity due to ramping up on new domains * Teams are force-fed OKRs that end up highly discouraging collaboration with other teams
