Pros
Work life balance Lots of travel Lots of freedom/autonomy Awesome coworkers Phone/laptop/corporate Amex credit card so no reimbursing! Seems like the company is trying.
Cons
Probably looking at a big round of layoffs soon and/or M&A. Notice we don’t have a CEO, COO or CMO. For a tech company, internal technology is a joke and management are all 30+ year veterans that have no clue how to use it i.e we have Skype, webex, zoom AND gotomeetings. WHY? And every single meeting nobody can figure out how to mute people or turn the screen share on i swear it’s a joke. It will literally take you forever to get anything done here. Seriously, there is a job aide and process for everything if you get 1 or 2 action items done in a day you’re accomplished. And everyone knows that, they’re comfortable with it. D&B loves itself. There’s way too many pointless meetings that do nothing to drive sales or drive engagements with customers. Just meetings so depts that have nothing to do with sales can tell us what they’re up to. We don’t give a sugar honey iced tea, we want to sell. Our pricing, invoices and usage adjustments literally require training in itself for anyone to understand, and our customers complain about it too. But seriously, even off the shelf products can take days to price. There are sales tactics and there’s shady tactics. D&B practices both. But so do most companies so it’s ok. There’s a love hate relationship here between employees and the company. Love the people you meet and work with and the pros listed above, but it’s so damn irritating to do your job. If your in sales, get ready to be tasked with selling, but actually spend 90% of your time putting our fires and dealing with BS like invoice changes, Id/password resets, contract amendments, etc because back office literally takes forever and when they respond they ask obvious questions. It’s like they’re trying to not help. Tons of overlap and redundancies. Lots of talking, very little action. I mean you’ll be on 8 internal meetings in a week just to hear people talk about what’s going on with them and their team and product roadmaps and pie in the sky future changes. It’s like people are scheduling meetings to be busy.
