Trust your gut with this place!!! They are so desperate for people to work here, they will hire you immediately after the interview, promising you higher pay, extra vacation time; telling you that you can make this position into anything you want. It's all a lie! While they did give me a salary bump from my previous position, they went back on the extra vacation time I was promised on hire. They are also so desperate for people to stay that if you threaten to quit, you will be offered higher pay and other benefits until you promise to stay. I have heard from multiple sources that this is the only way to get anywhere within the company. The founder and CEO is a nightmare to work with. I found myself being treated unprofessionally on a constant basis, being degraded and spoken to as if I were a child. They constantly ask for "go-getters" and "people that don't ask for permission," but if you go against the CEO's wishes, WATCH OUT. He is a giant bully with a magnifying glass, and he picks on a different person each week to be his own scapegoat. There is no customer service, no communication, no direction, constant over time for the CEO's mistakes. And if you tell him he's incorrect, don't ever expect an apology; he is never wrong. But don't worry, he'll always be pointing out when you're doing something wrong, and never when you do something right. The rest of upper management are total suck ups, bending at the CEO's every demand. I was told by multiple VPs relating to my position that I would be attending a conference since I was hired on, months ahead of the event. When the event rolled around and I was not on the attendance list, it was because "the CEO decided it wasn't important for you to be there" despite what multiple others in the company suggested. Being the founder, the CEO is also heavily involved in every day tasks, making it frustrating for anyone trying to get their job done. He has demanded on attending each and every sales proposal meeting, because he is untrusting of any employee that he hasn't worked with for more than 10 years. He has to micromanage every aspect of the company, demanding to approve every single email blast that goes out from a software update notice to a company Christmas card. He even has to approve internal memos that go out from the administrative assistant, including notices of free donuts and cake in the break rooms. I wish this was an exaggeration. Not only that, but he goes over any of the VPs heads in terms of financing, demanding to approve office supply orders and the thermostat of the building. You cannot suggest growth or new ideas within the company, because the CEO is so bogged down with mundane the tasks listed above, that he has no time and energy to put into new ideas, which makes the whole company suffer. They have no online or social media presence, because those in that position cannot be trusted enough to do the job they were hired for without his approval. But he never has time to listen to new ideas or approve anything, so the company has stagnated. Upper management are all Baby Boomer, misogynistic white men with no regard to the female or working single mothers of the company. There is no work from home policy, despite the entire company being cloud-based and every employee working on laptops. If your child is sick and needs to be picked up from school, you will either be docked pay for the day, or told to come back to work immediately, often times resulting in young, sick children sleeping in empty offices or cubicles. This is the policy because all of the upper management, including the CEO, have stay at home wives or are child-free, making it a huge disconnect to the problems of their employees because it is a non-issue for them, so it shouldn't be an issue for anyone else. The mantra of the office is that if you're not in your seat, you're not working. This has resulted in employees developing lower back problems from sitting for too long, as well as being reprimanded for taking brief breaks to stretch their legs. You can take this review "with a grain of salt" or from a "disgruntled employee" but just make sure you do your homework and reach out to other current employees before accepting a position here. They will all have similar stories.
