Business Outlook
Pros
Fellow field workers. Company vehicle. It's nice working outside in the summers. A lean operation allows you to gain knowledge/tasks that in other companies may take longer, though this can also lead to frustration at times for the same reasons.
Cons
Service oriented job. It's a construction job. You're a contractor, not a problem-solver, not really an engineer. You are like a union electrician. The work can be interesting, but it is not innovative. There is no prep work or project managing as it it seen as a non-billable cost which leads to major inefficiencies. But every company has their problems and the jobs do indeed get done at the end of the day.
