Pros

there was a pay check

Cons

low pay, job did not match description in advertisement and discussed at interview, senior staff refused to help junior staff get professional license, job depends on having the "support" through preferred treatment from a partner and not the quality of your work, too much training on h&s lip service and little to no training on job for entry levels (sink or swim), project management blame junior staff when something goes wrong even if junior staff had little involvement in task that went wrong (i.e. junior staff assigned 2 hours enter data in a table, project manager bills most of report but doesn't do it, then blames junior staff in front of Partner saying that was their task to "do report"), you admire and flatter your partner and look other way when they unfairly talk trash about coworkers and never ever tell them they are wrong... if they sink from hubris, you go down with their ship management has no shame in firing you, giving bad recommendations, and talking bad about you to others in company and outside company... worse for my career than if i sat at home and did nothing

Pros

Interesting projects, flexible work hours, ability to pivot to new disciplines and teams

Cons

Employees are getting squeezed by increasingly difficult metrics, with less compensation, less work won because rates are now set so high. Less and less investment in employees through benefits and upskilling. Managers are spread so thin they can’t give time to their team.
