      Pros

      ERM has global reach with offices all over world and a diverse group of environmental professionals. I worked at ERM in Abu Dhabi. Small staff with many projects mostly oil and gas related. Based on my cross-sector environmental experience I was able to choose project I wanted to work on. Good company to work with. Expect significant amount of travel as the Abu Dhabi office serves Middle East regional clients.

      Cons

      Time sheets, utilisation is 80% billable. There is pressure to be billable over 80%. However, that is the case majority of consulting firms.

      Interesting projects, flexible work hours, ability to pivot to new disciplines and teams

      Cons

      Employees are getting squeezed by increasingly difficult metrics, with less compensation, less work won because rates are now set so high. Less and less investment in employees through benefits and upskilling. Managers are spread so thin they can’t give time to their team.
