Pros
I have joined ERM as a Partner right away, and can definitely recommend ERM as a great workplace for enthusiastic leaders who are passionate about sustainability, climate change, helping others and growing the team and themselves professionally. The culture is friendly, other Partners and Senior Partners are supportive, and we at ERM work really across borders. This is a great place to develop own knowledge and skills - being surrounded by so many deep subject matter experts in a wide range of sustainability, commercial, strategic topics, one keeps on learning every day (not mentioning being able to receive professional advice within 24 hrs from around the globe). It is also a good place for horizontal and vertical shifts in career - I've observed quite a few Partners changing roles, geographical locations and areas of responsibilities over the last 5 years - to keep their excitement and business growing. The overall culture is horizontal and flexible - while having set targets and KPIs, team members have flexibility (and all the support needed) in terms of how to achieve them.
Cons
As a company owned by a private equity firm, ERM has commercial targets and KPIs for partners and senior managers, which is not uncommon for other big consulting firms. On a positive side, it's really up to Partners to decide on the strategy and tactics how to achieve these together with the team.
