Just lacks clear direction from senior leaders and co-founders. Feels like a face fits organisation. Pivoting the business to all doing sales isn’t a great tactic if you don’t provide support/training/ guidance. Especially when managers are involved. Direct managers have very little ability to make decisions, just a mouthpiece for the co-founders to protect them from the face to face conversations. The co founders are friendly and approachable but are far too involved in the day to day rather than providing clear future focus. Could be great as space is still quite niche, but needs a re think on structure. AM function has been pretty much disbanded, let some good people go, same with the recruitment teams. Interesting choice in managers for some teams as interpersonal skills are lacking, but these people have been promoted on time served and coming from the same company as the co-founders, rather than promoting on leadership skills. Very minimal diversity and inclusivity, despite pushing this as a USP. Also, side note don’t pass someone’s probation early, allow them to think they are going to get commission, then tell them that they can either ‘leave or get fired’ because the role doesn’t exist anymore and then refuse to pay them the commission they earned. Especially when your (now MD) and Perm Director outright disagreed with this, just poor form.
