Pros

- The company has made a couple of intelligent outside hires in the Senior Leadership team since Edge was created a year ago from merging 4 eCommerce / retail insights companies. - Strong work-from-home policy which gives employees flexibility. - Co-workers are generally positive and eager to do good work. - eCommerce intelligence is a growing vertical.

Cons

- Some Senior Leadership individuals who were part of one of the 4 previous companies before Edge was formed have found themselves with much greater responsibility than they had previously. As a result, many appear to be well out of their depth. - Co-CEO situation is strange and seems to lead to delayed decisions. - Communication would be a con in many organizations and merging four companies into one makes that even harder, but the communication is particularly poor. Even allowing the the obvious miscommunications in forming Edge, business updates are very rare and inconsistent. Ascential's CEO produces a monthly newsletter which is helpful - at a minimum, something similar from Edge would be a start. - Ascential's (the company who own Edge) expectations are that together the 4 companies working as one would achieve massive growth. While I anticipate that will happen eventually, Ascential expected that to happen immediately which has led to wildly unrealistic expectations in revenue projections and product enhancements. - I'm sure many individuals who were part of one of the 4 companies before merging to join Edge need time to adjust from the fast-paced and sometimes hectic way of working at a smaller company to the now more methodological way of working as part of Ascential. But I know there are frustrations that due to the increase in processes required by Ascential in being a publicly traded company, often the most talented individuals are tied up in admin rather than working on the things they are best qualified to help with.

I’ve been at Edge for over two years now and I really like working here. I think my team is full of great people and I love the opportunities I have to pursue different kinds of projects with some of the worlds largest brands. Would recommend

Cons

Typical growing pains for a brand whose parent company is going through M&A and rebranding

They want through some layoffs when they were preparing to be sold.
