Pros

Re-mote work and flexible working hours.

Cons

One of the primary reasons for my dissatisfaction with Edge was the lack of opportunities to advance my career in a manner that aligned with my long-term goals. Despite my dedication and commitment to the company, I found myself constantly overlooked when it came to promotions or projects that could have helped me grow professionally. This lack of support and guidance hindered my progress and left me feeling unfulfilled. The constant turnover in upper management added to the challenges within the organization. It became apparent that those in leadership positions did not possess a firm grasp on the core procedures that underpinned the functionality of the company's product. This lack of understanding trickled down to the rest of the workforce, leading to confusion and inefficiency in day-to-day operations. It was disheartening to witness how the frequent changes in management created a sense of instability and hindered the company's overall performance. A pivotal moment in my employment journey with Edge was when upper management decided to replace the manual procedures, which had been the backbone of the company's operations, with a machine learning process in a bid to cut costs. While cost reduction is a legitimate concern for any business, the decision resulted in the elimination of my position and left me without a clear alternative. The company's choice to implement a point-and-click web user interface to replace essential computational tools such as Excel, SQL, and Looker was a grave misstep. This new interface was slow, glitchy, and significantly hindered productivity, making day-to-day tasks unnecessarily cumbersome. Throughout my time at Edge , it became evident that the company's focus had shifted from prioritizing the quality and efficiency of its operations to merely pursuing cost-cutting measures. As a result, valuable resources and tools were taken away, negatively impacting the productivity and effectiveness of the entire workforce. In conclusion, my experience with Edge was disappointing and frustrating. The lack of career advancement opportunities, constant turnover in upper management, and the ill-advised implementation of a glitchy web interface all contributed to my dissatisfaction. While I acknowledge that companies undergo changes and face challenges, it is crucial for an organization to maintain a clear vision and support its employees' growth. Unfortunately, Edge fell short in these areas, ultimately leading to my departure from the company.
