Pros

Used to be a great company in the past with great vision, team, market traction. Most of that has gone now but some element is still there.

Cons

A group of people from a well-talked about company in other reviews (Ap**us) have very much destroyed the culture and the company. They fiercely defend and protect each other against any wrongdoing. Very very toxic environment. Most people are in management positions because of their past friendship, not merit. Backstabbing, talking down, disrespecting women, and arrogance are very prevalent. All the buzz around "diversity" is just a marketing gimmick because this company is seriously struggling in attracting good people. Company is bleeding talent. Non-Ap**us people can NOT survive in this company, irrespective of however good they are. On the contrary, Ap**us people thrive in this company irrespective of how badly they perform or don't perform at all. This is a very depressing state of affairs. If you are not from Ap**us, be ready to get a performance warning in a quarter or two. Company has lost a lot of strong talent and has become incredibly slow - like a dying dinosaur. Everything takes so long - a shocking discovery for a so-called "hyper growth" company, which turned out to be just another marketing gimmick to misguide people to join the company. Pretentious management tries to make you believe everything is hunky-dory but fails badly. It's evident reading their faces that things are tense and they are struggling. Management is highly opaque, they are not aligned among themselves, you keep hearing mixed messaging on priorities and most of them backstab each other. Eightfold is the least transparent startup I have ever seen. There is no right career for anyone. It's a very interesting company - probably never seen before - if you want a stellar career inside the company, be ready to worship the top people - bend on your knees and make their wishes your command. Do not question or raise issues. Just keep your heads down, knees bent and hand folded and do what you asked for or do things to please them. This is the only way to be successful at Eightfold. Meritocracy does not exist. All in all, I regret the decision to join this company and sincerely request you to wisely evaluate your options before joining.

Pros

As a recent hire, my onboarding experience has been surprisingly smooth. Like any high-growth technology company, there is definitely some "drinking from the fire hose" in the first few weeks, but that's largely because there is so much happening across the business. The team has been welcoming, supportive, and willing to invest time in helping new employees ramp up. What has stood out most is the company's vision and the pace of innovation. It feels like there is a constant stream of product announcements, new capabilities, and customer momentum. If you're someone who enjoys being close to emerging AI technology and wants to help shape the future rather than maintain the status quo, there's a lot to be excited about here. The people are smart, collaborative, and genuinely passionate about solving complex problems. There is also a strong sense of ownership and opportunity to make an impact regardless of tenure.

Cons

The pace is not for everyone. Priorities can move quickly as the company responds to market opportunities, and you should be prepared to learn fast and navigate some ambiguity. Having a proactive mindset is important.

Pros

They pay top dollar, but that comes at a cost of you working your butt off and still feeling like you might lose your job tomorrow.

Cons

Easily the worst company I have worked at. The foundational pieces of a culture from work life balance, basic psychological safety, opportunity to work with kind leaders who lead…were absolutely missing and lacking. From waking up to too many fire drill Slack messages, to working late at night, to being ridiculed by leadership, I can’t tell you how many horror stories I have gained. It’s truly sad because there are so many really good ICs and a couple fantastic leaders (but they couldn’t shift the culture alone). I am so happy I no longer work here. Not to mention the product was so aspirational to the extent that it was hard to tell what value was being received by customers. Churn was high and it is a miracle that customers stayed…The CS team worked endlessly to keep them. I actually feel horrible sharing all this, but I’m inclined to because unless it has made a complete 180 in the last year, this is not a place I’d ever recommend.
