Pros
Great pay scale relative to the Bay Area market, with solid retirement contributions/pension options and comprehensive healthcare coverage. Generous PTO allowance and reliable benefit packages that support long-term stability.
Cons
Clear bias in career advancement. Management routinely denies promotions and development opportunities to qualified personnel under age 55, regardless of skill or performance. This overt favoritism toward older staff and lack of merit-based growth has created a toxic environment and driven away numerous talented, highly skilled team members. Management consistently cuts critical corners on equipment training and onboarding. Shifts are intentionally understaffed below safe operational levels—seemingly to trim budget line items and inflate management’s annual performance bonuses at the expense of crew safety and morale. Leadership displays blatant double standards and a lack of basic professional standards. The management style is characterized by severe favoritism, poor communication, and an unkempt, unengaged presence that sets a bad precedent for the team.
