Pros

-Helping EL Teams across the country better serve their students while saving admins and teachers precious time. -Powerful data analysis and process oriented tools that are continually improved upon. -Coworkers are smart, amazing, and dedicated to the company's mission. -Flexible work schedule, such as unlimited vacation and ability to work from home for certain positions.

Cons

-Promotions and leadership hires often reflect the homogeneous makeup of the leadership team. -Communication across teams does not always feel transparent or valued. -Attempts to retain employees at certain positions are negligible. -Growth paths are lacking for multiple teams.

Thank you so much for taking the time to give us your feedback. We also feel strongly about the success of our mission, tools, smart team members and flexible work! We also acknowledge that we have more work to do to increase diversity in our senior leadership and are committed to making this happen. This year we added a female board member and promoted several people of color. But there is more work to be done! We are continuing to work on more formal career paths, but also believe at our size a lot of career development happens in each of your monthly insight meetings, training/PD and other project type opportunities. Thanks again for your feedback!

Pros

One of the better places I've worked. It is remote, with one offsite per year that could have been an email, but you never feel micromanaged. The people are genuinely great, and they hire well; everyone's helpful and easy to work with. It also feels like the mission is real, not just something they slap on the website; you can tell your work actually matters and connects to something bigger. And the workload is reasonable, which honestly feels rare these days

Cons

That said, things have shifted in the last few years. There's a real sense of instability in the market right now, and it's bled into how work feels day-to-day, everything's got this undercurrent of urgency and edge that wasn't there before. Leadership hasn't been transparent about it either; the messaging tends to paint a picture that everything's fine, but it's pretty clear financially that it's not. After the layoffs last November, that same uneasy feeling is creeping back in, and it's hard to trust the reassurances when the pattern keeps repeating.
