Pros

Most of the team members are wonderful and great to work with. Previous owner, prior to Empower taking over, is a fabulous visionary and successful entrepreneur. Since he stepped away, power hungry individuals took hold and unfortunately poisoned some of the team.

Cons

Does not treat employees well. Overworked, under paid and most definitely under appreciated. Acts as if transparency & integrity is important, and when they ask for feedback, you are reprimanded for views different than theirs. A lot of constant criticism and drama within leadership, and unprofessional conversations being had about team members. Ops leader is consistently going into employees emails, listening to private conversations, gossiping to other managers and actively works hard to find issues on employees rather than leading and motivating her team to success. Horrific micromanagement from one leader. Most of the team members in this location are fantastic, and are highly effective professionals, but one leader with significant power, keeps them stuck.

Pros

The whole organization is becoming more and more metric-driven and growth focused. With elements such as career mapping & KPI tracking, Empower Brands is truly focused on being objective and focusing on the employees. My manager is always so focused on my personal development!

Cons

My only con I can think of is the PTO structure for hourly employees. It's an accrual system that only earns you 80 hours per year until you hit your 3 year anniversary with the company. However, salaried employees get unlimited PTO and internal growth can be seen organization-wide, so it's not a large issue!
