Pros

Since I started working for Enchantment Resort in Sedona, Arizona, my goal was to grow in my career with the company. It was just over 6 years ago, that I started as a Guest Services Agent. I worked hard and after just one year, I was promoted to the Front Desk Lead. Approximately one year later, again, with my hard work, I was promoted to the Guest Services Supervisor. The growth didn’t stop there! From there, I was promoted to Guest Services Manager, and now, after being here for over six years, I am proud to say I am now the VIP Relations Manager. I am sharing this to show that Enchantment truly does invest in its employees’ wellbeing and professional growth if the determination and strong work ethic are there. Our revamped culture is one that celebrates the team’s successes. I believe our employees feel well compensated and valued. This culture is one that supports one another. Whether it be an individual or a department that needs help, each of us will often jump in and help with no questions asked. We often say to one another “one team one dream” is something that is truly practiced at this resort. The company’s mission statement is “working together to create and deliver extraordinary experiences.” I’ve been fortunate enough to be surrounded by a group of people who truly believe in the meaning of this statement. Our team does work together to do what is necessary to ensure that our precious resort we call “Enchantment” is associated with lifelong EXTRAORDINARY memories. My favorite part of working with Enchantment is that I get to be a part of the team that is remembered for creating unforgettable experiences for those who begin at our resort as complete strangers but end up leaving our resort as family. To anyone who is interested and willing to put the work in for personal growth and professional development, and is looking for a team environment, where we stand beside one another and truly care for each other, I recommend you apply with us!

Pros

The property is one of a kind. It is beautifully surrounded by the red rocks and high desert landscape. There are great kind people that work there. And they truly care about each other and the guests. But not at the higher levels. The shuttle is a great service but you also have to be on its time. They do provide a meal. And there are really great room discounts if you’re able to take the time off but staffing is always an issue.

Cons

But where it matters is not great. From ownership to upper management there is a complete disconnect on the identity of the resort. Which then makes lower level teams seem chaotic and confusing to guests. There is a self righteousness from some of the executive team. There is a complete lack of communication between departments. They won’t/can’t hire qualified staff because they have this idea that the pay is comparable to other places around. It is not. Retaliation for complaining is rampant and you definitely can’t have open conversations with leadership much less Human Resources. There is a reason there is always 30+ positions open. People do not stay here because they do not know how to treat their employees. They have to use temp services because they can’t keep regular staff. Especially in the kitchens. Clear timely direction is not a known concept.
