Pros

It's a job, I guess? Also, no one cares if I punch in 20 minutes late if at all.

Cons

When I started I was given three name and phone numbers for people to call if I was ever sick or needed help with an issue. Two of those numbers have a new voice behind them every few months and the one never answers or calls me back. When one of the new managers finally calls me they get to run through the whole "I'm new and they didn't tell me about that" spiel and maybe are able to help me with something. When I started, I was putting in an effort. I was trying to be quick and thorough but it wasn't going to happen in the time they gave me to do it. I started getting yelled at for being a few minutes over. They told em that they weren't making any money, because I was working slightly longer than they wanted me to. That's either a lie, or someone is terrible at negotiating their cost to clean. Neither is acceptable. I almost never get the general supplies I need in a timely fashion if ever. It can take almost a month to get you what you need for that month so you go weeks with almost nothing and are forced to use old dirty rags or are stuck not being able to do somethings. Which seems fine by them since I'm just spot cleaning for a company they told me is a multimillion dollar company that I'm supposed to be cleaning thoroughly. I've been told to scotch tape a vacuum cord that had holes in it. I once overheard a coworker being told to use a cup to scoop feces out of a toilet that couldn't be unclogged. So we're being instructed to poorly repair a cord and the customer's property to clean a toilet out. Are we supposed to hope we don't bun the place down and no one gets e coli? My coworker got chewed out for not being disgusting and poisoning people though I was fine to not burn the place to the ground. I eventually learned the only thing I need to do is not get any complaints. That's really the only thing I need to do, otherwise they couldn't care less what happens.

Pros

Flexible schedule and decent extra income if you need a second job.

Cons

I recommend taking pictures of all of your work before leaving an account. In my experience, I received complaints about things that I know I completed, including trash that I know I emptied. Later, photos were provided showing issues, but there was no visible date or timestamp to show when the photos were actually taken. This made it difficult to understand when the issue occurred or whether it reflected the condition of the account when I left. I also found it frustrating that when I tried to explain my side of a situation, I did not always receive clarification or a response. Instead of feeling supported, I felt like I had to defend work that I had already completed. Another thing I found unprofessional was being asked how much I was being paid.
