Pros

- Challenging problems every day - Get to work with bright individuals internally - Develop friendly rapports with your customers - Opportunities to travel - Opportunities to lead high-stakes projects with high level people - Lots of internal opportunities. For example, new hires can become a team lead (i.e. a manager) after a year - Great pay out of college for the area with guaranteed raises. They recently did a "market adjustment" that raised everyone's salary even more - Decent, subsidized food - Nice campus. Each person gets their own office or splits one with an office-mate

Cons

- Management often stressed that working at Epic is flexible - that you get to pick what you work on and you set your own schedule and hours. That's true to a certain extent, but you have to meet key performance quantitative metrics. It's strongly implied that if you don't put in at least ~45 hours a week, then you're considered underperforming and your raises/bonuses take a hit. I've also heard that you are ranked relative to your team, so potentially even if you think you are doing well, your compensation may not reflect that. - You may be expected to work on the weekends sometimes - It's honestly luck if you'll enjoy working with your customers or not, and if they give you a busy load - If you don't like having tons of calls every day, then this job is not for you - Management is very against WFH even though there were many days I was at the office and didn't talk or work with anyone else - Epic is contracted to support customers on holidays, so it sucked when I saw my friends at other companies got to enjoy the day off when we didn't - It's a good place to start your career, but I feel like the hard-skills you develop with this role is quite specific for the healthcare industry. That's not to say you won't have trouble finding outside opportunities if you choose to move on
