Pros
Epic allows mostly autonomous work if you receive minimal critical feedback from customers and coworkers. Epic staff are motivated and great to work with overall. Campus is beautiful, you can get your own office, and they pay really well after a raise or two. Health insurance is off the charts great.
Cons
The great pay and benefits come at the price of highly stressful work and high work hours. Many people work 55-65hrs a week the first 3-5 years in the PM role. Given the nature of the work there is no avoiding stress at the job since we’ve talking about getting a hospital setup to take care of real patients on the software. However, Epic makes the stress worse by giving employees too many projects at once, constantly reminding you they hold you accountable for the success of the project, and expecting you to pick up the hours when your customer falls behind.
