Pros
-Fellow prep lab coworkers help ease the pain of over 50-60 hour work weeks. -Music really helps keep the pace and mood when you clock in between 12-2pm and clock out at 2-3am.
Cons
-I genuinely cannot list them all, the Food and Environmental Microbiology department treats their Lab Tech 1 people like theyre garbage. People literally have mental breakdowns weekly because they are overworked for months and this has been continuing for the 5 YEARS the departments been open. BUT WAIT! HAVE NO FEAR! WE JUST GOT A BLACK PEARL FOR CUSTOMER SERVICE SO CLEARLY THEY'RE DOING SOMETHING RIGHT!! Seriously?! -You clock in and don't know when you're going to get out. Some days it's midnight some days it's 345 am, just don't know. It doesn't matter how far away you live too. You can only leave when there's no more samples to do. You want to see your family or live a normal life? This is not the job for you. -I couldn't even wish this job on my own worst enemy. -The experience is not worth being over worked for low pay, and being treated like your voice doesn't matter. -Internships will treat you better.
