Pros
After many years with this company, there are only a few pros that I can think of. Flexibility, competitive health insurance rates and the camaraderie between co-workers. The flexibility is the only thing keeping many of the good analysts there. I gave a second star for the amazing co-workers with whom I work with; otherwise I would have kept it at one star.
Cons
Well below national standards salary wise. Maybe it's competitive for the environmental industry, but knowing you can make the same at Costco with a college degree is disheartening. In house upper management is not only unsupported by their superiors, but are clueless as to how to run a functioning lab. They are pushing away experienced people in lieu of cheaper college grads with zero experience. They also have unrealistic expectations; over promising and under performing at every step of the way. Staffing is always an issue, yet management expects you to "do what it takes" to get the job done, mostly by working loads of overtime. Future employees need to learn to set their own boundaries quick if they want to work here. Also, the option to "move up" within the company hardly ever transpires without games played by management to get you to try to stay where you are.
