Pros
Solid benefits for biotech in the area. Impactful company mission.
Cons
High rate of employee turnover--people generally leave the lab for other ventures around 1-2 years. In the aftermath of the pandemic, the company culture has shifted from one of genuine care and appreciation for employees to one where the only focus is company bottom line and the profit loss if turn around times increase. Employees are increasingly asked to do more with less. Career moves up or out to other departments for lab employees are incredibly difficult even though the company claims to care about investing in employee development. If you enjoy repetitive work with little variation or opportunity to problem solve, this job would work for you. For those, especially young grads with STEM degrees, looking to do real science, look elsewhere.
