Pros
I am loving the culture and the people that I get to work with. I enjoy the property management aspect as well as the customer interactions. The least stressful job I have had the pleasure to work at. I don't have a dull moment, I can be in the office or out on the property so I don't get restless with sitting in front of a computer or too worn out on my feet, it's really the perfect balance. The company is expanding rapidly and there in so much opportunity for growth and advancement as the company acquires what looks like 30 new sites a month. There are also many Live on Site apartments for store managers at some locations. What a great boon to help their employees live a more balanced life and save money to buy a house, save for their kids college in the future, etc.
Cons
The cons would have to be the pay. In the DC suburbs, I get paid $1 more than I did as a cashier at REI over the holiday season. That gives me the incentive to move into a store manager position as quickly as possible but that pay is really only $2 more an hour. They make up for the low pay with monthly bonuses based on the properties performance and number of new rentals. The SMs obviously get the better deal with 30% off the top and the rest split between the ASM and the SM by hours worked. This is great and I am thankful for the bonuses (also more incentive to get promoted asap for the better end of the bonus lol) but with inflation on the rise, gas almost $5 a gallon and food prices sky rocketing, the pay means I work a second side hustle bc the cost of everything looks bleak. I want to stay and I hope they make it easier to bc it is a great company and I'm happier than I've been working in years
