Pros

You get Monday off. Some good lads

Cons

Where to start. The beginning I guess. I had not had much experiance driving lorries I made that clear. Got in contact with their super had a brief informal chat about the job. How the trucks all had camaras ect started a week later. The induction went well learnt a bit. Pretty standard stuff Driving assessment went well. First time out and about they gave me an old hire truck. No camaras, no autobanksman or scales. Hit a car that day reversing. Great day. Driving down all these little streets is real stressful I come to book a holiday. One which I made aware to the management on the induction. Gave over a year's notice. I find out about 3 months later (once they had purchased a 2023 diary) that I had not got the holiday but not though the management confidentiality though one of the loaders. Rejected the holiday as it was to long. 3 weeks. Because it was at the height of the green waste collection. Bullying/victimisation was commonplace for me a couple of the drivers took an active role in trying to make me miserable. Which I was. Numbers of People noticed and mention but nothing was done. The management took pleasure in informing people who were gathered in the lobby that they had been told by the senior manager that they were going to get rid of someone when they next come in. So I knew before the person who was being let go. Confidentiality 0%

Pros

Co workers were helpful and kind

Cons

The manager treated me like I was an intern. I was expected to do account management duties for accounts that were considered house account since they were sold by former sales people therefore I would not be compensated for any additional sales I made or service increases. When I asked if I would get commissions since I was in a sales role and account management was an internal role I was told “that’s why you have a base” meanwhile I was also expected to be out finding new business for the company who was how I made income. Everyone there hates their job. Constant turnover. FCC is also the most expensive provider so good luck selling. Management claims FCC is the best therfore there’s a premium. False. Drivers don’t like their job so jobs won’t get done. You’ll be dealing with angry customers.
