Pros

Great people (at the local level), short and long term benefits are very competitive.

Cons

Where to begin... like a few others here, I truly thought I would work my entire career at FM. I've worked here over 10 years and never once heard of anyone getting laid off. I valued this stability and felt like the company cared about its employees. A few years ago, there was definitely a cultural shift. Since then, I'm not sure I recognize the company I once was so proud to be a part of. The strict vaccine mandate, with no option to continue working predominantly remotely and to test/mask whenever it would be necessary to enter an FM office, was the final nail. For a company who prides themselves on assessing risk, they sure have missed the mark with covid and the vaccines. These shots do little to prevent infection or transmission after only a couple months following inoculation. This has nothing to do with public safety and everything to do with politics. I will not miss this organization when I am terminated January 4th, simply for trusting in my own immune system. So much for diversity and inclusion!

Pros

The benefits are decent with a modest pension.

Cons

Managers are less knowledgeable by the day and so are the frontline workers. There has been a serious decline in knowledge and skills over the past few years but senior management isn't doing anything about it. We assume they don't even notice. The game plan seems to be that AI will take care of everything. Good luck with that. When things start to unravel in a few years every manager will blame someone below them. Maybe then the board of directors will start paying attention to the serious mismanagement that our CEO seems so gleefully proud of.
