Pros

The only positive I have was the ability to make my own schedule. However, making your own schedule takes time, flexibility, and creativity.

Cons

Where do I start? I actually looked at reviews prior to confirming when I took a job with Fox. I brought up the fact I saw "unsustainable" and "no work life balance" in reviews during my interview. I was told, those individuals must have never spoke up about their challenges and they must not understand how to manage their time. Those statements were completely false. I pride myself on my time management skills and I spoke up many times, however how can you manage your time when your work week turns into 55+ hours. With Fox you work for units and not hours, and that is challenging with cancellations- (which you will have, it's geriatrics- MD appts, hospitalizations, forgetfulness, pain, sickness, etc.). With the horrible documentation system, travel time which isn't paid for, treatment sessions to equal 130 units a week, you WILL go home with documentation and you WILL work more like 50-55 hours a week. If you have cancellations, guess what, it's on you. They might mention receiving a reduction however you never will. So they expect you to work the weekend to hit your units, if you don't, guess what, your missed units come out of your PTO. Don't do it.

FOX Rehabilitation Response

Hi and thank you for your review. FOX practices within a unique model that allows us to hire professional salaried clinicians. In doing so, there is a sense of flexibility in exchange for flexibility. For example, we allow our clinicians to create and manage their owns schedules so that they may have the autonomy to control their day to day. We provide a banking system to allow a flexible option for cancelled visits, as well as a two week pay period for added flexibility in attaining your visits. We also pay our clinicians a guaranteed salary, which is different than most settings. This is to offset the fluctuation in pay you might see elsewhere. Each offer package is designed specifically to each clinician, territory, and caseload. A lot of our clinicians do work 40+ hours a week, depending on how efficient they are with their documentation and scheduling, it could vary to a little more or less. Our average work week for a full-time clinician is 40-45 hours, so we would agree that 55 hours a week sounds like a lot. In bringing those concerns up with your manager there should have been additional training offered on how to avoid cancellations and how to manage your schedule. FOX works with our account management team to keep your caseload where it needs to be, that being said if your quota is missed due to not enough caseload, that is on FOX, not on you to use PTO. I am sorry to hear your experience is not what you hoped for, that being said our autonomous model is not for everyone and we wish you the best!

Pros

The biggest pros are the flexibility and autonomy. Being able to create my own schedule has greatly improved my work-life balance, and I appreciate being able to treat patients closer to home. FOX also provides a lot of resources and support for its clinicians. From continuing education opportunities to clinical guidance and helpful treatment resources, I always feel like I have what I need to provide quality patient care.

Cons

One challenge with home care is that last-minute patient cancellations do happen, which can leave unexpected gaps in your day. However, because of the flexible scheduling, it’s usually easy to reschedule those visits later in the week, making it much easier to stay on track with patient care.
