Pros

Pays good money, has good benefits, and you can garner claims experience. During deployments you get CAT pay which can earn you quite a bit of additional money.

Cons

Overworked. Very hard not to burn out. Seems like management is fully aware of the dissatisfaction and employee turnover/burnout but cares more about numbers than people. They tell you you're a salaried employee and use that to justify overworking you. Deployment schedule is a mandatory 21 days on with 7 days off. They will give you absolutely as many claims as they can on a deployment. 4 - 5 per day is not unusual. They're slow to accept PTO, if they accept it at all. I was told on multiple occasions by management the shelf life of a CAT adjuster is only 1 - 2 years. Seems like it should be treated more like a temporary opportunity than a full time job because there is almost no chance of longevity.

Pros

Probably varies dept by dept. But my experience has been very good, overall. Great team, flexible schedule, not micro-managed, and given opportunities to advance my career.

Cons

Relative to what I've heard about other insurers, can't really offer any cons at this time.
