For example, the company laid off an employee after the head of their department spent months promising them a promotion and pay raise. Overall Feedback: Working in the marketing department can be particularly challenging as the organization continues to cut headcount. I observed that the predominant form of "professional growth" often entailed individuals being tasked with responsibilities beyond their expertise due to layoffs.
