Financial Services Representative (FSR) - Financial Service Representative First Tech Federal Credit Union Employee Review

Pros

I thankfully work at a branch with a great branch manager. If you work hard, the commissions are not bad. Benefits and paid time off is pretty good.

Cons

Company does not hire from within. No career growth or upward momentum. The only people who move around are the tellers... to FSR... if they are lucky. If you apply for any other position, you will find out they hired an outside person with better qualifications, say if you want to try for a mortgage officer (vs retail loans that FSRs do).

I appreciate you taking the time to leave your feedback. I strongly encourage you to chat with your branch manager or regional director about advancement opportunities as well as job shadow opportunities to give you increased exposure into other roles throughout the organization. It's very important to us that we promote from within. Although it doesn't happen 100% of the time, we're always on the lookout for those who proactively seek out advancement opportunities and who want to broaden their skills to do so.

Pros

Generous employee loan discount, hybrid work schedule, professional development opportunities, Fresh fruit is a nice touch.

Cons

Small desks and crowded to co-workers which creates distraction and difficulty at times to concentrate due to noise. Hotelling desk locations often "raided" of equipment. One day you'll get there and you're all set and the next time docking station of other equipment is gone.

Pros

Nice location, easy access, good D&I

Cons

I worked here for two years, the Pay scale was so low you had to work two jobs if you’re a single person. They have the customer service representatives doing sales, and then find ways to not give sales bonuses because your customer service levels aren’t high enough. I had worked in customer service for eight years and I’m still in customer service at another institution and never have I seen such ridiculous rules. If you have to send a request to another department and they call them back your first call resolution is crap. And remember this is a sales team so they pay you so little and work really hard to not give you a bonus. I talked to a Work coworker who stated that now they don’t get their quarterly bonuses because they have to be at 110% of First call resolution to get the quarterly sales. Bonus makes zero sense.
