Pros

2020-2021 was great for flexibility and rapid growth- there was an excess of cash and a lot of new exciting 'wow' services and high energy from all the constant big client acquisitions.

Cons

When the economy finally caught up with FW there was a shift- the company relies on having a constant edge on competitors, so the primary role of all employees was to be 'innovating' to meet that expectation, on top of already existing responsibilities. You can imagine how in the infancy of this company this was doable- less parts to worry about, completely new platforms, freebies and overtime worth the expense. But it's not sustainable, and a model of reinventing your services constantly to stay in business is really hard on most employees. You are also not compensated fairly for this level of high expectations and delivery. My experience fell from a creative and opportunity-filled design role to a mundane constant fire and insane turn around piece-meal grind. Would not recommend anyone work here. FW People are kind, company direction is questionable.

Pros

There are still great, intelligent people here that you can learn from, but they are dwindling as the mass exodus continues.

Cons

Benefits: Omnicom has been slashing benefits left and right since the acquisition, effectively giving all legacy Flywheel employees a paycut. Employee healthcare costs went up 100%, employer HSA contributions got cut by 50%, unlimited PTO revoked, and 401K matching is no longer guaranteed and comes 7-8 months after the end of the year (if it even comes at all). Year-end compensation and performance reviews always get pushed back 4-6 months. Flywheel use to be an exciting and fun company to work for. That's all gone and now all that remains is an unrelenting workload that never ceases no matter how many nights and weekends you work. I wouldn't take a job here unless you're desperate.
