Pros

They offer good health and retirement benefits There's opportunities for growth if you play the game and can tolerate a very stressful, bullying, demeaning work environment.

Cons

They treat their employees like cattle, there's nothing personal about it. First they still use a clock in & clock out system in 2025! If you clock in 1 minute late, your supervisor will ask why are you late and may even write you up. They use intimidation and talk down to employees I heard a supervisor say that they want to hire only desperate people like single mothers. They want to hire people they deem as having no other options so they can mistreat them.

Pros

My time at Fort Bend County had many positives, including meaningful work that served the community and a team of dedicated professionals.

Cons

Unfortunately, my role ended abruptly during a departmental “restructuring,” with no prior notice or opportunity to adapt to the new direction. The decision process lacked transparency, and the transition felt unnecessarily cold and disorganized. Those considering employment here should be aware that changes in leadership priorities can happen quickly and without much communication. While the mission of the County remains admirable, stability and long-term career growth are uncertain if leadership or departmental direction shifts.
