Pros
This company provides opportunities, sometimes opportunities you wouldn't find elsewhere. In general, people are really nice. There's no doubt that they try to be a good company, and I don't think intentions are anything less than good. Historically, they've bent over backwards to take care of people.
Cons
There are some real negatives. I don't want to disparage a former employer and people who were good to me, but there's truth to most of the negative (and positive) reviews left on this site. None of this is personal, and I hope it improves. Some culture needs to be confronted. Women have been treated pretty poorly by management and employees here, sometimes unequally in direct comparison to men, and it's been a problem. While there does seem to be a category of "untouchable" employees who have a history with the company, I've seen others who once had very good relationships with leadership be ostracized until they left, and this was deeply hurtful for them. At one point I was warned against having meetings with a colleague who was then out-of-favor and held in suspicion by management. I was also disappointed to hear leadership spread rumors about former employees or attempt to discredit them. None of this means the company can't be better going forward, but it has to stop; it has to change. I left on good terms but saw too many good people leave in frustration when they weren't empowered to do the job they were hired for (or the job they were promised) and too many people hurt by toxic aspects of culture like sexism or bullying. I have no desire to air dirty laundry, but these reviews and these reviewers need to be taken seriously.
