Pros
Teammates are amazing!!! They are hard-working, caring, driven, with an interest and a belief in what they do. I could not ask to work with a better group of people. If they are not, they don't last very long. Bethpage hires with the intention of developing the leaders of its future. Promotions and opportunities are always available for those willing to work for them. The credit union focuses on its members and its employees. There is always food around and activities to do outside of work with your coworkers, such as a run/walk club, bowling team, softball team, volleyball; you name it! There is a very open and ethical company culture that allows you to be heard. Communication is always a priority and as a company, we are consistently improving, or trying to, which is more than can be said of most other organizations.
Cons
The organization sometimes leans too much towards sales and growth, bordering the likes of those "big banks" and taking on a more corporate mentality. However, since Wayne has become the CEO, there has been more balance. It's not as stressful, because it's not constantly about doubling our size. It's back to "people helping people". The environment is changing for the better. We just need to get our back-office operations onboard and continue to stick to our roots. Network and computer systems are slow and unreliable; it takes too much time for member information to be retrieved, and the phones cut out while you are talking.
