While I have worked for numerous start ups, most of them get their act together within a couple of years. Not GRUBBRR. GRUBBRR's entire business model relies on cheap labor. Offshore development and QA, inexperienced interns managing products and projects. The quality of their product reflects this lack of investment. Their "legacy" product is completely unstable, and filled with features that don't actually work. It was so bad, that the executives decided to scrap the whole thing and start over. Rather than actually learning from previous mistakes, much of the dysfunctional code base was copied and pasted, bringing the bad code and bugs with it. So now there are 2 unstable platforms to maintain. Everyone constantly operates in panic mode, since everything is constantly failing. As the software fails, the blame game begins. The CTO is frequently heard screaming in his office. Scapegoats are often singled out, and publicly lambasted. Without warning, employees are let go (no notice, no severance, no cashing in on unused PTO, just escorted to the door) There is zero scalability. There is no way to deploy, update, or maintain the kiosks already in production, yet they have pipe dreams of selling and deploying thousands more.
