Pros

So far, nearly 2 yrs in, I feel GXO is a good brand and place to work for. Love the global family feel. GXO has much to offer and does very well in some areas of the business with its people. As a brand from the top GXO really lives and breathes its values. I feel this when on calls and when meet some of the people and with other colleagues globally and UK&I and sometimes on my site with other colleagues too.

Cons

1. When preparing for an acquisition, I feel this could be executed better as to not leave the teams feeling bruised, bitter, and mentally abandoned, but to get them on board with a different mindset and get used to the GXO culture sooner rather than fight it. 2. It is really disappointing to see that some Senior site teams don't take training and development seriously for their teams because they don't take the time to understand it because everyone is too busy chasing KPIs, in meetings and or on calls and forget that it is the people that really make it happen in our businesses. However, it is pleasing to see some managers who do take an interest and time with their team's development and support them on their journey and how well the colleagues grow 3. More thought process into the onboarding of new teams at any level on sites. Have a plan and a buddy system in place for them. Also, line managers should commit to completing colleague's 4, 8,12 week reviews, set realistic goals and objectives, and check and follow up. 4. Central teams at all levels need to get out to the business units more to meet the people. Do 'Meet & Greet sessions on sites. Talk about the 4 P's. People, Place, Profit, and Product from a wider GXO perspective. It's the personal touch that means millions to the people.

Pros

Great coworkers and talented engineers who genuinely support one another. Opportunity to work on impactful projects and solve real business problems. Exposure to modern BI and data technologies. Strong team members who are willing to go above and beyond to deliver results. Good learning opportunities for self-motivated individuals.

Cons

Leadership and management style can create unnecessary stress and turnover risk. Frequent micromanagement and excessive focus on responsiveness rather than outcomes. High meeting volume reduces time available for focused engineering work. Priorities and stakeholder commitments are sometimes established before consulting the engineers responsible for delivery. Limited trust in experienced employees and their ability to manage their own work. Internal growth and mobility can feel restricted. Work-life balance can be impacted by shifting priorities and urgent requests. Lack of recognition or compensation alignment when additional onsite expectations or workload demands are introduced. Having a non-technical BI manager overseeing technical engineering work can sometimes result in unrealistic timelines, misunderstandings of development complexity, and decisions being made without sufficient technical input.
