Pros
Working at Gatsby provided me with a lot of opportunity to grow my skills, work on new and interesting projects, and network with a lot of people working on cutting edge modern web technology. The technology Gatsby is producing is incredibly exciting, and there's a rush to being part of building the future of the modern web.
Cons
I joined Gatsby when it was a very young pre-revenue company and endured many of the growing pains of becoming a stable business. There were a lot of things that distracted from doing the job I was hired to do and there was limited support when it was needed most. By the time I left Gatsby, a lot of the "growing pains" of becoming a more mature company felt like they were getting smoothed out. There was a reduction in distractions and an increase in productivity, but I believe there will still be some friction in this area. If you've never worked for a startup, it could be a culture shock for you. For example, there are often responsibilities that don't have a specific person on staff to cover, so you might end up taking on work that you weren't hired for, while also needing to do what you were hired to do.
