Pros
-"Stable": Keep your head down, mouth shut, accept the status quo, look busy and you will have a long, uninspired career here. - Great people*: This really depends on which department you end up in and which ones you work with. I would say there are as many great people as there are not so nice ones. To the genuinely hard working and kind employees, YOU DESERVE BETTER. - Employee discount on defective goods that retailers won't take - It's close to Commerce Casino, when you feel beaten down by your employment here, you can go there and get cheap drinks. Cheap drinks are key because you won't earn much here.
Cons
Oh boy, where shall we begin? Let's start with the basics: - Low pay with "raises" that don't keep up with inflation - Health insurance that you will pay 40% of out of pocket. Co-pay is still $30+ - No 401k match - No vacation your first year, 1 week your second year, maxing out at 2 weeks after three years I really have no idea how HR can say "PEOPLE ARE OUR #1 PRIORITY" with a straight face, this is laughable. In fact, the priority revolves around not angering any of the owners. They may get angry for any number of reasons, they are in a bad mood, you walk by their office too many times, you aren't praising and worshipping the ground they walk on because they gave you a job. The environment, owners, executive team, managers that have been there 15+ years systematically stifles innovation and stomps out creativity. Instead of hearing out employees that may have new ideas that may increase productivity they are viewed as troublemakers. If you have an opinion that is not praising how amazing the owners and company are you will be seen as a problem, not someone that might contribute to a solution. They environment turns the most eager employee into mindless drones, doing busy work that is ineffective and wastes time. Otherwise, they leave for better opportunities. The company is "successful", able to obtain contracts with major retailers and big brands, however it is so inefficient. Instead of embracing and paying for top talent that can do the work of 3 people, they prefer to pay 3 people paltry salaries that will push around paper. The work gets done, eventually, but it speaks to the culture they cultivate here.
