Pros

- The crew was great and very helpful - The 1 star is for the crew, or else there wouldn't be a single star

Cons

- Someone in a leadership position was very age-discriminating, I was pulled into a meeting and told that since I was younger, I just need to listen and do what he said, even when my work was already approved by a paying client of the company. - There is not a clear hierarchy of of leadership, everyday is a new day of whom the studio have to listen to. Each department does not talk to one another which leads to department heads badmouthing each other. Even worse, management couldn't seem to agree on a method of communication, leading to the studio having to ask for approvals via emails, texts, and other messaging apps. - They expected a really high level of work, yet wouldn't provide you with the time, direction, nor equipment to achieve it. New projects were created and sent straight to the studio without going through art direction, leading to time being wasted on shooting and re-shooting due to misaligned taste and vision. - Often times I was handed a last minute project to complete with a one-day turnaround, only to find out much later that the deadline did not matter at all. Or a project was assigned with a tight deadline, but no samples were delivered to the studio until very last minute. - When I was hired to be a photographer, it took the company 2 weeks to get me an Adobe license. Many photo equipment and props are old, but there's no budget for new gears. Yet somehow there is thousands of dollars worth of video equipment sitting unused.

We never like to hear about bad experiences at Gibson Homewares. We are very proud of our Creative team! It's a significant investment for the company to employee so many full-time creatives. In the past two years we've built out a brand new onsite Photo Studio that is state-of-the-art, complete with brand new appliances. Most of our photographers appreciate the new work space. Our business creates a pretty high demand for content from the studio. That is something we deal with every day. We're doing our best to meet the high demands of our business.

Pros

I arrived at Gibson in 2017 and since then I've met some great wonderful people here! If you are a good employee and are serious about doing the job and wanting to grow, doors and opportunity will open for you. I have been in 3 different departments here and learned so much in each of them! I am very happy in my current position and look forward to staying with Gibson for many years to come!

Cons

Only thing I can think of is: I wish there was more natural light coming in inside the office, but I understand this is a big building and isn't always possible. You can always use your 15 min break to step outside and get some nice sun and take a fresh breath.
