Pros

Flexible schedule well known in the industry. Great place to build customer relationships and book of business.

Cons

Poor management owners are disconnected from employers and not in touch with the culture and labor laws. Typical company ran by children with generational wealth and very little education and knowledge of the work force, In other words they have high paying jobs and big titles and have never worked for anyone. Be prepared to be looked at as the help!

First and foremost, thank you for your years of service. Gibson, being a family-owned and operated business for 45 years, operates at the behest of the family. Across the board, we have leaders in each functional area (e.g., HR) that keep up with their latest industry trends, e.g., labor law. The company has a clearly defined organizational chart that includes CEO, COO and CFO (all family members). No "children" run the company. Our C-level leaders of the company know the business from the ground up. Over time, each one of them has rolled up their sleeves and spent time in the warehouse to make sure customer's orders ship in time. They are "hands-on" leaders. When you speak of "children" running the company, you are likely referring to the next generation of the family that has entered the workforce. Like their fathers before them, they are learning the business. They offer a new perspective from a different generation and have the opportunity to "have a seat at the table" with the family/owners. They are not running the company. Contrary to your comment about the owners not being open to constructive criticism, they are open to constructive criticism, in the right context. For example, e.g., in a meeting about employee morale, they are very open to hearing constructive criticism and very willing to take some action. However, criticism in a different context, e.g., a sales meeting, is not productive. Generally, the owners are very direct. You usually don't need to wonder if they like your idea or not. Thank you again for your years of service.

Pros

I arrived at Gibson in 2017 and since then I've met some great wonderful people here! If you are a good employee and are serious about doing the job and wanting to grow, doors and opportunity will open for you. I have been in 3 different departments here and learned so much in each of them! I am very happy in my current position and look forward to staying with Gibson for many years to come!

Cons

Only thing I can think of is: I wish there was more natural light coming in inside the office, but I understand this is a big building and isn't always possible. You can always use your 15 min break to step outside and get some nice sun and take a fresh breath.

They offer flexible hours with a positive work environment. From Christmas parties to lunches and raffles celebrating other holidays Gibson makes you feel like not just an employee but part of the "Gibson Family". They appreciate the work you do and reward good job performances with annual salary increases and bonuses.

Cons

I Really can't think of anything
