Pros
A couple of years ago, there we a lot of bright passionate people working at Gigster. The company certainly had startup issues, but the energy was undeniable and it was exciting. The Gigster model had some initial small successes, but never materialized into a bigger success. One major customer/alliance brings the vast majority of revenue.
Cons
Since the company wasn't growing, the investors brought in an 'A Team' to make this company 'good to great' a year ago. Understandably there was an initial massive layoff to rebuild the company. The new 'C levels' brought in the best and brightest of SV. Unfortunately they haven't changed anything. Revenue is still declining despite the fact that Gigster has gone through over 30 salespeople and only a handful have ever made quota. The leaders are quick to fire people and often reminding staff of that fact. There has been such an exodus that the massive office floor is now sadly barely occupied. In the last 12 months, there has been three re-messaging efforts (and a $250K logo redesign) but the market still isn't buying the model. Even most of the projects that have been delivered have had issues.
