Pros

It depends greatly on site, but at Gilbert High and Mesquite High, I had great admin support, and, at Mesquite especially, recognition. I felt really appreciated at Mesquite High School and wish it was more supported by the district.

Cons

District plays favorites about how they distribute funds/give recognition. I taught at 3 different schools, and how much I had to fight with district depended on which school I was associated with. The school I enjoyed the most was Mesquite High School, but because district does not like this school, I had to work a lot harder to get district to listen to me.

I absolutely loved my school, but I had to leave because I just wasn't paid enough with the rising cost of living in Gilbert. They did get a raise after I left, but it still wasn't enough. I have never had a school culture as good as FFE. The parents, students, and principal (has since left), were all amazing to work with.

Cons

GPS is a very large district. I didn't feel valued by the district. I felt VERY valued by my school though. I went to a much smaller school district, and feel more seen.
