      Thank you for writing a review - We understand budgets, especially unpredictable and uncertain state monies as we observed with pandemic related relief monies, can be very complex. We are truly sorry if you or your team was impacted by the RIF and are happy to report we have been able to offer the majority of those impacted positions back in GPS. Pay competitiveness is a strategic priority of GPS along with employee retention. We strive to meet both goals, along with balancing the needs of each individual campus community.

      Pros

      Bigger district, so there is more support. Salary was higher than some of the surrounding districts School day and hours were not too long or short The teachers were tired. Really tired. The ones that stuck around were not nice, and a lot of times bitter. There were exceptions but unfortunately, there were many new teachers who had a difficult time at my particular campus.

      Cons

      Bad budgeting Too many students being labeled with learning disorders of all kinds. Some kids are just not developmentally ready and are being mislabeled. Report card system is tedious and takes much longer than it could Kids are pulled out for too many things that seem to add to school's budget but not to children's learning

      I am so fortunate to have my students and their families.

      I am getting $11,000 less than the salary schedule indicates based on my years of experience with Gilbert Public Schools.
