Pros
(note last year at employer was off since option was not there)
Global Prior Art was my first job after completing my undergraduate degree, and it was a wonderful place to begin my professional career. I am very grateful for the mentorship I received there and for the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects across the biotech and intellectual property fields.
My work at Global Prior Art introduced me to freedom-to-operate analyses, patent landscape projects, and the broader role of IP strategy in biotechnology. The experience gave me a new perspective on how science, technology, patent law, and business intersect, and helped me better understand the complexities of operating in the biotech industry.
The projects were intellectually engaging and diverse, and I learned to think analytically, and communicate technical information clearly. Most importantly, the experience helped build an important foundation for my later career in the biotech industry. My manager was also very supportive and helped me onboard and adapt to industry work.
I have very fond memories of my time at Global Prior Art and I would recommend the company for the training, mentorship, and exposure to different aspects of the company.
Cons
Because the work is project-based and often moves quickly from clients, there is not as much chance to follow projects through over the long term to see their impact for the clients.
