Pros
Good pay. My recruiter was kind and initially very much negotiable to my needs to be able to fill the position.
Cons
Once position was started, very unresponsive and unorganized. I also come to find almost everything I was told was incorrect. -Neglecting to pay last payment They did not respond to my last invoice. After several calls and messages I finally received a message stating that they were not going to pay it as it wasn't entered into their time system. I had stated in the email of the invoice when I sent it that I could not, as I was already locked out. After some more messages and calls they stated were clearing it up, as I didn't have access to the system anymore, and I would be receiving the check shortly. That was already a month later on a NET10. Another month later, and still haven't been able to and still having difficulties receiving communication and honest answers. They don't call back, and when I call in everyday, I keep getting they will call back with answers, or other excuses, and then nothing again. They are always surprised when I call in again, and they forget everything we had already discussed. -Incorrect term voiced and stated with no notice. I was told it was a 3 month contract with likely to extend, and although I do understand contracts can end early and unexpectedly, especially if you complete projects early, it was assumed I knew it would only be 2 months instead, and I wasn't notified until a week prior in an unrelated matter just a few days before hand. There was no communication of the possibility or options afterward. There was no exit information, or contact either. -Travel Had to pay for a good amount of travel up front. This was not going to be a big deal as I was assured that this contract would renew and be 3 months, and if not they would have something else. Neither happened. Once they have you, they don't care. I passed up some great opportunities because they seemed great in the beginning, but instead, they left my scrambling. I'm fine as I am a greatly experienced developer. But this is extremely unprofessional, and I have never had a recruiting company so irresponsible. I understand this is a risk you take, but I don't want anyone to make the same mistake I did.
