- It is not a very professional environment.
- The pay is WAY below the market average and there is no transparency at all. There is no logic in how they define salaries (for example, grads making the same or more money than people with more experience). Also no benefits. They put huge pressure on finding upsell leads while there are no bonuses/commissions (really frustrating and unfair that someone else is collecting a check for YOUR work. They will send you a 'congratulations' email/shoutout in a meeting, but that won't pay the bills).
- They are constantly adding responsibilities to our list without an increase in salary. Also no annual increases/reviews.
- There is no clear career path/progression. If you stick around and get a 'promotion' you will maybe get a 2k increase in the already awful salary and a 'senior' on your title and have to live with that for the next 5 years.
- They are aware of all of this but don't bother doing anything to retain talent. I have seen/heard of BRILLIANT people coming and going in months. Also, once they gave notice they were asked to keep it a secret from their colleagues.
- As a company in general the environment is very toxic. There is a lot of tolerance for bullying and racist/sexist comments.
- Senior people that we need to interact with won't bother to treat you well or give you the time of day because you are not senior enough and they feel like they are God's favourites.
- HR is there to make your life as difficult as possible.
- EVERYTHING, even the smallest thing, has to go through the CEO's approval so all the processes are slow and bureaucratic. Teams have no real autonomy.
To be fair I have learned a lot but I am already looking for another job.
