Pros

-Products are good on the surface level (they look good/have a user-friendly UI)

Cons

- The products are all publicly sourced research and materials. 99% secondary, public data and maybe 1% primary, proprietary research - Misleading clients, and unethical business practices, especially on renewals - Horrible pay, and no career progression at all. Management doesn't even offer pay increase YoY. You have to fight tooth and nail for it. - No sales tools, at all. This is not hyperbole. They make you pay for your own LinkedIn Sales Navigator... - CRM system is a complete and utter mess. Makes it very hard to get things done, and they dont let you edit the CRM. You need to get approvals and make Lead changes through a separate team, making it a huge headache and taking forever. - No autonomy. High micro-management, especially if under performing - Huge company, constantly talking about growth and profits, yet they don't even have money for the bare necessities. That being said, the CEO (mike danson) always has time and money to spend on his Yacht! - Old Boys Club in sales. Antiquated practices that aren't evolving - No one hits Quota, but the business is constantly showing growth year over year. Quota is unattainable on purpose so they don't pay out commissions. - Bad benefits. Horrible employee retention rate

Pros

Decent pay, good clients, existing subscription business provides a foundation for future growth

Cons

The consulting services business is a joke given the almost the complete lack of a delivery team and experienced / qualified consultants to actually perform the project work. The India-based global services resource center is staffed by persons who have minimal understanding of the healthcare industry and who are guaranteed to get-it-wrong, but thankfully there's always Wikipedia to correct the gaps in the so-called proprietary data / insight. The forecasting tools should be avoided like the plague because they rely upon unvalidated financial models meaning that their predictive output will likely be a surprise to all parties. Do not buy this service, it is a complete waste of money. Finally the business continues to experience very high employee turnover due to a high stress environment, very weak senior leadership that values making the sale more than delivery of a quality product and total ethical corruption. GD core data service products are a scam that involves the collection of information that is already in the public domain that can be had for free by anybody with a computer and internet access. The phrase why get it for free when you can pay for it applies to data service subscribers, if they only knew how little effort went into collecting this pile of junk or ensuring that it was accurate, nobody would ever pay for this service.

Pros

-The product is great, especially on the pharma end. It can make a real difference in the drug development process for a biotech. -Commission plan is pretty decent.

Cons

Awful management. The sales cycle for business intelligence is 4-12 months, but if you don’t score after month 2, they’ll put you on a performance plan. Once you’re on a performance plan, your job will be threatened every day. Every single meeting with your manager you’ll be reminded that “upper management” wants you gone. It’s so toxic. If you do manage to get close to a deal, management will force you to change payment terms or contract years at the last minute. There is absolutely no company culture. I literally never met half the people on my team. Management has no interest in building a collaborative environment. There are no sales tools at all. GlobalData supposedly is a billion dollar company, but they couldn’t be bothered to invest in Salesforce admin, zoominfo, LinkedIn sales navigator, or any other standard sales enablement tool. They expect every rep to just magically find phone numbers and emails. Bottom line is that you can find a better sales job. I beg you to not take a job here. You’re mental health depends on it.
