Pros

Smaller company; get to see CEO and VPs regularly; flat org; treats Lots of surgeon interaction, cross-functional work and responsibility in PD & sales support As stated, good starter experience...but move on (don't be too loyal, GMED isn't). Profitable and frugal company - not likely to get in big layoff trouble or hurt options that way.

Cons

Fickle 'Friends 'n Family' culture that stems from the top; only ONE opinion matters, everyone else is just trying to guess what that opinion is and, ironically, show no spine, or in trying to make better decisions, have to hide them, leading to poor management. Some truth in the idea that everyone else (almost - F&F excepting) is expendable. The truth is sometimes expendable too. Non-PD departments need not have egos, for they matter little.

Pros

Great community of people to work with, flexibility with working hours (as long as you're over 40hrs/week, investment in developing skills and experience early in career. Excellent place to start your career. Things move quickly and stay interesting. Lots of resources for PD.

Cons

No flexibility whatsoever for any work from home, regardless of circumstance, pay is average and benefits are only okay. Communication with/from execs often not the clearest and timelines are aggressive, which is a good and bad thing.
