Myopic top management team can only view the staff through their own narcissistic world view. Out of touch with the family lives and life situations of worker bees. This was at one time a warm family-run business with caring, supportive and encouraging management, but this has been recently usurped by heavy-handed, passive aggressive corporate management from above. The top dog says "make it so" and his minions carry out the dirty-work to gain favor and kudos from above. Company was at one time run by engineers, but now is dominated and directed by accounting. Profit and stock value are the bottom line. PM's are routinely harassed when jobs are going over budget. Weekly staff meetings are filled with gloom and doom of overhead costs, cash flow forecasts, complaints of late payments from clients, and cautions of "what it takes to keep the doors open." PM's are being turned into collection agents. The result is an exodus of talent in epic proportions. Competing engineering firms are reaping the fruitful rewards of these management blunders as engineers flee before now-routine lay offs, or before their jobs are outsourced to the China office. If working for a company that has lost 40% of its prime engineering staff is attractive to you, now is the time to get your resume in. They are hiring.
