Hi there! Thank you for taking the time to share your GoCanvas experience with the Glassdoor community! I'm so glad that you enjoyed your teammates! Hiring is the most important thing we do, finding the best people to build fantastic products and serve our customers is so incredibly important to us. And, one of the most frequent compliments we get is about how amazing our team is to work with. As for surprises, I'm not sure what you are referring to exactly. 2020 certainly had plenty of 'surprises' for us and we absolutely pivoted as required (which was a lot) so that we could keep meeting the needs of our customers, who as small to medium businesses were often devastated by COVID. Some of the 'surprises' were delightful however, a Zoom based magic show, commemorative hoodies, and a new product to help our customers get back to work safely during the pandemic. Thanks again for taking the time to share and all the best in your new role!

Pros

Flexible PTO (though this is changing). Work-life balance was decent, especially earlier on. My customers were the best part of the role, and I genuinely felt for them as they navigated a significant amount of organizational change.

Cons

I stayed longer than I probably should have because the strongest parts of my experience were early on. After the acquisition, the culture shifted enough that many people started reevaluating their time here. It became more process-heavy, less transparent, and much more rigid than before. Management experiences varied widely. At one point, I went months without a clear direct manager or consistent point of contact, which created confusion around ownership and expectations.
