Pros

The work environment I experienced at Goodwill encouraged my own personal development to grow alongside challenges of the business. I was given an entire department to cultivate, including everything from receiving and pricing to display and customer service. Superiors were receptive and forward thinking.

Cons

Corporate communication to stores was limited to very wide generalities. More precision spirited strategies went unsupported, like when I tried to get a more coherent merchandising strategy for the Housewares Dept to be adapted storewide, and I made a training manual, the District manager said he wanted to use it company-wide, promised me a raise, and then failed to implement even our one store's distribution of the guide, no less to other stores. For several months until closed by Covid, no salary increase ever materialized.

Pros

Having a set schedule every week with 2 days off in a row Goodwill scholarship program is fantastic lots of career advice and support giving back to the community

Cons

Working weekends, nights, and holidays The customers are so rude Management says one thing but then caves to the customers which undermines the employees so many exchanges the clientele rude people the customers
