Pros
I worked in SOFTWARE DESIGN in Mission Services and the Directors there go against their own company-wide HR policies to show rank and encourage employees to risk their health and safety for no reason. I guess it is a job? If they treat their corporate employees this poorly, I can only imagine how poorly they treat the retail workers. THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT MISSION JUST ABOUT RANK AND BOTTOM LINE!
Cons
All these people understand, maybe because they have a retail focus, is butts in seats. No part of my job required any real physical presence, but I understood that Goodwill is not the most tech-savvy place on earth so was willing to compromise eventhough we have a GLOBAL PANDEMIC THATS KILLED 500k people happening right now. They literally want TECH WORKERS in mission services to go into career centers that are filled with older, sickly at-risk folks (I don't want to expose THEM to illness either) to watch videos that are COMPLETELY VIRTUAL AS THEY ARE SHOWING THEM ACROSS THESE CENTERS. People are either just this stupid at this organization or their only value is their presence so they try to make this the norm so no one will discover how completely useless 80% of the organization truly is. I was harassed and belittled from day 1 for just attempting to use a couple of new technologies in my TECH DESIGN JOB. I was made to feel little because I have a preexisting condition. they are ableist and discriminatory. There is so much red tape here that many "developers" spend their entire day begging for directors who do not know how to rotate a pdf to "approve" changes. Spending extra time outside of work in JIRA. They overwork you and the pay is AT LEAST 20% under market rate. I've worked in a lot of sketch environments, but goodwill corporate AZ takes the cake.
